I grew up in a family that didn’t have enough the means to visit Orlando, so my exposure to the themed entertainment industry was limited what I saw on YouTube videos and park blogs. Disney Dreamers Academy was the first opportunity I was ever given to truly explore the magic of themed entertainment at a professional level. After all of the hardships I experienced through my life from discrimination to familial loss, Disney Dreamers Academy gave me a safe space to show up authentically and heal forward into the future. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, combined with my own personal challenges, inspired me to pursue a career where I could help others and instate meaningful representation in themed spaces like Walt Disney World.
